Mission
Residence Life’s mission is to make Concordia home to all its residents by supporting them to grow, connect with community and create positive change. It aims to create a welcoming and diverse community that is inclusive, supportive, and safe.
Offerings
Residence Life offers a variety of accommodations on both the Loyola and the SGW campuses. It houses approximately 900 students, with a focus on the first-year undergraduate experience and students who are living more than 50 kilometres outside of the Montreal area.
In each of the buildings, there are trained resident assistants who are upper-year undergraduate students who act as mentors to the students living in the building. They create social activities to encourage a positive living environment, assist students in connecting with resources for both personal and academic needs, and ensure a safe living environment. The Residence Life staff and resident assistants provide 24-hour oversight of the residents.
By law, students are required to sign a Lease in an Educational Institution as issued by the Tribunal administratif du logement - Gouvernement du Québec. The lease is for approximately eight and a half months, from the third week of August to the first week of May. Exact dates vary depending on the academic calendar. All residents must also sign a Code of Community Living Standards and Discipline that outlines expectations and rules about community living. Depending on the building in which the student resides, they will either have a mandatory or optional meal plan with Concordia’s food service provider.
Being accepted to Concordia does not guarantee admission to residence. A separate application for on-campus housing can be accessed through the student portal once acceptance is issued by the University.
